Adjourning!!!!

When I think about adjouning I think about this stage as being essential to teamwork because I feel that it allows for some closure in certain situations that we may face in our everyday lives as well as in the workplace. Thinking about this I would have to say the hardest good-byes are the ones where everyone has worked as a team. I also feel that it may be difficult to leave the high performing groups because those are the groups you have worked together especially in my workplace to acheive the goals we have set for your families and children this school term. I feel that at the end of each school year we have our end of the year gathering with families and childreon, we pack our classrooms up and turn in all of our reports to center manager and we prepare for the next school year to come. Having to say those good-byes even though it is only for 3 short months it seems hard, especially when you work with co-workers who work real close together and set goals to acheive throughout the year with you children and you work hard to make sure those goals are acheived before May comes. I feel that adjouning is a essential stage of teamwork because as we finsih one task we prepare to move on to the next one. Also as I leave Walden in the end of my journey I feel it being hard to do because along the way we have formed a mutual respect for each other online. We have formed and stormed in building with our peers online. I wish everyone the best in whatever they do. Best of Luck to all!!!!!

  1. Vicki,

You illustrated one of the adjournments we all experience-watching some of the children transition to the next phase of life, Kindergarten; while others will be returning in the fall. Completing all of the end of year reports is hard work. Looking at the results in the fall, helps us to determine our goals for the following year. Our teachers find the data interesting as they make adjustments to their teaching techniques. Every year is different because each year new children arrive with diverse needs. Returning students may also face challenges.

Thank you for sharing this important adjourning stage!

  2. Vicki,

I really enjoyed reading your post. I will have to agree with you that it is hard to adjourn from the team you build in classroom. It is a difficult time to say good-bye to all of your students. Thank you for sharing.
